FoxyPickles asked for a pin up of their Pickles as my half of an art trade: www.furaffinity.net/view/17553… The character is apparently a bit malleable, being played in various tabletops and Skyrim, and I was given the artistic freedom to play with that design wise. I found here a hard chestnut to crack, really, since Foxy Pickles has a very distinctive style that I really like, but is a massive chasm away from mine, lol! After much thought I just figured that I should draw her as *I* would, rather that imitating another's style and ending up with a weird hybrid. Hopefully playing up the Khajiit side was acceptable. I was super taken with the backstory blurb. Went with a very Cathay style head shape, as befits Skyrim's playable Cathay breed, and based the coat pattern loosely on a Lynx, so the ear tufts felt natural. To try and keep it at all in line with the character, the clothes she is wearing are all taken from her initial design.
A LOT going on here with style experimentation, tried to treat my digital brushes like pastel and conte, a media I haven't worked extensively in since high school, but I think I got the feel of it. I wanted the piece to have a relaxed warm look, even if I may have simply succeeded in making it look streaky. AS always I like weird stuff in my art, I really like the red pillow under her left rear paw.
